Science: Debunking Creationist Bullshit

La Casa de Los Gatos is not afraid to call caca de vaca when we see it. And if there's one thing we love more than reading about science in all its varied and delightful fields, it's mocking the idiots who believe a book of stories from some obscure tribe that's over 1,000 years old and translated, passed around, edited, and rewritten in large part, accreting more myths as it stumbles along. In any event, we delight in making fun of creationists, especially "young-earth" or "flat-earth" creationists.

And it is our unmitigated pleasure to share with you all this delightful YouTube snippet, found thanks to a brilliant Digger/friend:

Excoriate them in the politest of language, we say. Throw in Monty Python clips for further amusement. But get your shovels out, folks, because these people are buried in bullshit, and you'll need a spade to dig them out. Oh, and heavy-duty waders.

Generally when people start talking to me about their imaginary invisible friends, I start inching away and saying "Ohhhhkay....". Because they're just one step away from being one of those folks who are shuffling around in bedroom slippers downtown pushing a shopping cart while mumbling to their invisible friends, know what I mean?

Dinner last night was accompanied by a spirited argument about whether religious people can be called sane. The upshot of it was that those who relige in private might well be sane (especially since one can't tell whether they have imaginary friends) but the yobs who wrassle snakes, speak in tongues, and baptize via cellphones ... they're barking mad.

Oh, and why is it that the majority of people to whom the Invisible Friend speaks are instructed by such to murder and mutilate? Rarely does the Invisible Friend issue a command to feed the hungry or heal the sick. I'd worry about Friends like that.

Yeah, with friends like that, who needs enemies? I'm with you TPC, these people are barking mad. And what's worse, their madness is not benign. When they vote based on such stupid beliefs (and they are stupid beliefs, call a spade a spade) they are not only hurting themselves, they are hurting everyone else too. Great video. Thanks!
