Announcement

The proprietors of this fine blog regret to announce that Mummy's popped her clogs. Therefore, unless Ms. Manitoba and FoTPC step up to the plate, this blog is on hiatus for a week or more while I fly home to organize details.

Anyone with experience in handling the death of a relative, please feel free to leave any advice.

Many thanks. Sorry about the inappropriate humour.

Be well, all, and don't abandon us. We'll be back.

Keep hold of the good stuff, at some point memories are what we have.

My sympathy as well. Enjoy your family and friends-laugh as much as possible do what needs to be done and move on remembering the good times. It is life's cycle and we are next. It sure is different without any parents. tb

Times like this is when you realize that humor is almost always healing, and very seldom inappropriate. That's a sign your spirit is carrying you through this.

I've lost post parents. I was unaware of what a developmental stage it was. Some of us always think we're done developing, but that' what told me I wasn't.

Peace to you and yours.

Oh, I'm so sorry! I've been traveling and only just now read this.

I don't have any advice except to remember to take care of *yourself* - be kind to yourself.

Symapthies and keep up the humor. If that's how you deal with it, that's good. I do the gallows humor thing too.

I'm so sorry to hear the news. Take care of yourself and we'll be here when you get back.

very sorry for your loss. my only advice would be, make certain that the departed's wishes are scrupulously adhered to. and, so long as you are not in some sort of recovery program, see to it that you get lousy, stinking drunk.

Thanks so much, all of youse! I'm back and refusing to dwell on the past X days. Regular posting will commence shortly (unless I grow - how's that for terrible humour?).

Your good wishes kept me strong when I needed it. I'm a tad jetlagged right now (21-hour flights WILL do that) but will be back in fine fettle, or mettle, or whatever it is bloggers get back in.
